This Eastern Screech Owl closed its eyes and tucked its feathers perfectly into this tree hole. It's amazing how well nature helps them blend in, which is why these tiny masters of camouflage are so hard to find!

Shouldn't be. She has a pretty good portfolio of nature pics, and her photos are liked by one of my fav owl photographers, so he knows both owls and photography very well.
I've seen a number of photos from others similar to this, so I don't see anything unusual about this owl from my experience either, so I'm pretty confident!
