We saw a mosque built through donations by a merchant, and the minaret alone cost seven million riyals I have no idea how much the mosque itself cost, but the minaret was seven million! That amount could do a lot of good work in the area of orienting people towards the religion of Allah, towards the noble Quran and in educating them according to it, or in confronting the enemy or providing the means to do so.
We see that even a small contribution in the area in which we are working can go a long way; how would it be if there were a contribution of seven million riyals? This minaret, what will it do? … however, when you build a human being on the basis of the Quran isn’t he someone who is capable of shooting at America? Is it possible for the minaret to some day turn into a rocket that will be launched and destroy a city among the cities of unbelief (al-kufr)? No … you did not build a human being, you did not build ‘minarets’ the true minaret is the human being whom you build on the basis of the Quran and who builds and constructs himself according to the guidance of Allah where his success is on the basis of the Quran.
Extremist Republican Jesusites cannot tolerate anything other than total loyalty to their incoherent and contradictory world view.
9/11 worked exactly as OBL intended it to, it drove the US completely insane, provoked a counter religious extremism, and caused us to destroy ourselves.
To be fair the US was already bombing and destroying the place before 9/11. That's the whole reason in the OBL letter to begin with (especially the colonization of Palestine). OBL just accelerated it a bit. The US could afford to do a bit of plundering and colonialism but their military budget has completely spiraled out of control and now it's eating itself.
Oh absolutely, 9/11 didn't occur out of nothing and nowhere.
To me, the main point to drive home to Americans is we lost, we did what he wanted us to do.
We took the bait, hook, line and sinker.
We made a fundamental strategic blunder, and effectively, it seems to be our... collective character, hubris, as operationalized by our flawed social and government structures, that is what made that blunder.
Afghanistan remains the graveyard of western empires.
Its just hard to get across to many Americans the idea that we can and have totally failed, because our national myth/religion is American Exceptionalism, the overriding supremacist idea that there is some magic force that makes us better.
We are going to have to actually, truly internalize having fucked up continuously, for a long time now... that we're losers, not winners, that we are being humbled because we are not invincible, nor infallible.

One day MAGA will learn about their biggest phobias combined, the mukhannathun, and they will all spontaneously combust.
