The Trump admin probably has a bullpen full of idiot clowns who would hardly act differently than Hoekstra as ambassador, that said...
The USA's "negotiating" team wants to talk about their trade irritants and grievances, they can do that, but I think this petition is the Canadian people sending a clear message that Hoekstra himself is a living, walking irritant to us.

It’s now more than double that, at over 147,000. Even though this might seem like token resistance, Canadians need to speak up in order to have our voices heard. Political apathy has only gotten worse over the years, and is the reason the elites are so easily able to take advantage of us.

The petition also calls for an investigation into US diplomatic channels being used to boost Alberta separatists. I think that's the more important part tbh.
