A "Deal" is simply not possible. The US don't honor agreements and have neither courts nor the rule of law, nor congress. They have both abdicated their responsibilities.
"Agreement" or not, Canada's job is to decouple from the US asap. We can start with stopping the sale of Moneris and using the parliamentary majority to shore up legislated sovereignty by not selling important sectors.

You can't just decouple from an economy coevolved for 150 years. Geography matters in trade.

150 years? Not really. Most free trade and integration was since the 1994 NAFTA agreement, and before that the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement. Before those, we had a lot more sovereignty economically.
We don't need to end trade. We just need to end partnerships with a hostile country gone mad, and treat them like the psychos they are.

150 years grossly overestimates our integration. Canada and the US have only been on good terms since the 50s, and our level of integration reached its zenith less than 40 years ago. Our economy arguably did better before US integration became a priority as well. We have not, in fact, always been friends. We had relatively free communication, but for most of our history we've been more adversarial than co-operative.
We had a good, balanced, mixed economy before Diefenbaker started bowing and scraping before the White House like a mewling coward. It's beyond time we return to our roots.
