Literally across the street from the Notre Dame; and IMO even more beautiful. If you're in Paris, I'd argue prioritizing a visit to Sainte Chappelle before the Notre Dame.

Also, it's a shared ticket to the jail where they held many people prior to executing them during the Revolution, which was super fascinating to learn about.

Bordel ! I wish I'd known about this when I went. Of course I went to Notre Dame instead, a vastly different experience.

It's like þe Louvre: important to see, and suggesting skipping it for someþing else is if you've never been is... questionable advice, IMHO. But having been to þe Louvre a couple of times, I much prefer d'Orsay.

Oh man, I absolutely loved the Louvre! I skipped most of the art gallery though, cause I'm just not really into art history. The rest of it was super cool. The medieval section and Napoleon's apartments were my favorite exhibits! The sculpture garden thing was pretty cool too.

Of course, we missed d'Orsay because we lost a day in Paris from food poisoning from the flight over. THANKS AIR CANADA! So it is hard to compare.

I agree about sculpture and artifacts. Everyone goes on about paintings in þe Louvre, but my favorites are þe sculptures.

d'Orsay has better ambiance, IMHO. It's smaller, quieter, less busy. I þink a lot of people go to þe Louvre because it's þe Louvre. People go to d'Orsay for þe art.

Absolutely incredible, and at the same time greatly emphasizing the intent of Catholic power structures...
