I wish people would just download from youtube, upload to peertube, and share the peertube link as a matter of course when they want to share videos. It adds a few steps, but you'd save a lot of people from having to deal with that hellsite.
Holding the bag not only for current sunk costs but also for future "lost" earnings. The billionaires are going to recoup that hundred trillion dollar AI boom one way or another.
I mean, there was always this dissonance in how Bsky users talked about it. For many it was the simpler, less techy alternative to Mastodon. How many times have we heard people complain that Mastodon is too complicated?
But when challenged on Bsky's (de)decentralization, their only response is, "no, we have this overly complicated system that only techies can use."
There's this quote, I can't remember the wording or the source, but it goes something like, "What is truly terrifying is not what people can endure but what they can get used to."
I guess most of its fans know it for its collection rather than its museum. From the wikipedia page:
The Morgan Library & Museum has long contained a collection of illuminated manuscripts,[230] which date from the sixth to sixteenth centuries.[118][146][231] As early as 1923, the Morgan Library counted 560 illuminated manuscripts in its collection,[232] a number that had grown to over 1,100 by the 21st century.[231]

More Americans need to understand how spectacularly unimpressed the rest of the world is with their protestations that "he doesn't represent ME!"

It's a very common view in the US, unfortunately.

@rob200
That's the most likely scenario.

Maybe it's a miniature pony.
@bridgeenjoyer
I just don't get the appeal. I'd rather read a book, scroll Mastodon or look at the scenery while traveling than have to focus on the road.
I don't think Americans realize how many hours of their lives get wasted just so they don't have to sit next to strangers.
@bridgeenjoyer
@unglueclass23
Americans would rather sit in a car for an hour than next to a stranger for ten minutes.
@calliope
I think it's over-saturation. In person it's very bright with more muted colors, as in my pic.

@antonim I'd never noticed that weird positioning before, like his arms are straddling Jesus. Can't explain it.

Republicans weren't committing genocide in 2024 -Democrats were.
@edible_funk
Just saying, when you support genocide, some people will take a stand, and you won't always like how they do it.
. . . not to mention lying about it, calling opponents of genocide antisemites . . .
I'm sorry if you still can't see how some people would look at all of that and realize that both sides want them dead.
