Hey so I'm VERY new to the open source/linux thing, and although there are resources online they are still kinda hard to understand to a google kid such as me, or hard to find for someone not experienced.
It appears I can run postmarket on my galaxy A5 that was lying around in a drawer for 10 years. Thing belonged to my deceased grandmother, still work fine, has no scratch, I just never used it because I already had a device. Wanted to use it as a basis for a cyberdeck using only electronix stuff lying around.
Followed the wiki : I can enter flash mode, downloaded the twrp app but then I struggle to understand what to do. When I select flash to "select device" it just says "failed to fetch data from server". I also downloaded a twrp-3.7.0-9-0-a5xelte.img.tar but can't figure what to do with it.
Any idea gang ?

Samsung annoyingly makes many variants of their devices; in the past, even phones with the same name would have completely different CPUs. So, be sure you have a5xelte and not something else.
I did see this on the top of the wiki page:
Do you have Heimdall installed on Linux PC? The instructions say to get in Odin "Download Mode" and then use Heimdall to flash TWRP into the recovery slot.

Maybe you could find some help in the Matrix/IRC Channel they've put in postmarketOS wiki?
