Trump is a huge grudge-holder. Musk probably is as well. This is a political marriage of convenience that will fall apart again as soon as they are done using each other. And at that point the recriminations and insults will fly again.
I disagree. I think they don't have a mental concept of 'friends', and to everyone in the parasite class 'friends' are profitable social connections that are willing to exchange favors with you.
I genuinely think they do hate each other's guts, but they don't actually like anyone. They just have things the other party wants.
The WSJ reports that Trump and Musk now speak around once a month mostly about AI and other global events, although Trump says the relationship will never be what it once was. Still, people around Trump say the president still dwells on their breakup, and that he has privately admitted that Musk’s attacks hurt him, while Musk has complained about Trump’s “ingratitude.”
Oh Jezebel, that is a wonderfully tearjerking summary.

If they're friends, why don't they take a dive in a homemade submarine? Or maybe a nice rocket trip to Mars? Perhaps a romantic dinner of mystery meat with the health minister?

Just in time to rig the election again.

And that's the boringly short and obvious truth.
Sometimes I almost wish we had cleverer villains. Almost.
edit: ok the quid pro quo, esp. for Musk who is the money giver, deserves a few more words even though it's blindingly obvious, too.

After Elon publicly called out his documented relationship with Epstein in the files, he still wants to support him? Not surprised.

I’m fully convinced Elon has done even worse things than Trump it just wasn’t on that island because he was too lame to be invited

Consider this… they always were. It was theater of deception; an act.

Trump and Musk don't have friendships like normal people. The term has no meaning to their interactions.
In a similar way to how you can't really call Trump a liar. Trump doesn't care or even know if what he says is true, and the term liar implies intent.

Unfortunately it's likely because Musk is currently more successful than Trump

It's easy for the orange jackass to maintain a friendship with somebody he hates when they have money.
