I really like your cup

Thanks! I’m a big fan of pottery mugs. I always go to the local pottery fair every time they do one and have to pick up at least one or two mugs.

I love your mug! I love pottery drinkware, and this one makes me happy inside

Thank you! Pottery mugs are a bit of a collection of mine. I’ll be sure to show off some more of the collection in future posts here.

I, for one, would love that!

I just posted another one if you want to see! I might post again today or tomorrow with another mug too, depending on what my next drink is and when.

I’ve posted two mugs since this post, one with a fish last night, and then I just posted one with a leaf design on it.

Thank you for telling me!

I really like the leaf mug, but that fish mug... it is stunning! The slight asymmetry, the dips on two sides, and, obviously, the fish. Amazing!

Thank you! Yes, I absolutely love it. I probably got it two years ago maybe, at a pottery fair. I had picked out one mug, but wanted to get a second and nothing really jumped out at me. But then I saw the fish mug, tucked away on the top shelf behind some other mugs, and I asked the potter if it was reserved for someone or if it was available. She said it was available and took it down for me to look at and I immediately fell in love and had to get it. The lack of a handle is a bit annoying in really hot drinks (tea or pour over) but when I do a milk drink, I only steam my milk to about 60°C so it’s comfortable to hold.

I love that story! The lacking handle, for me, adds to the charm. I know it's strange, but I like holding the drink and feeling the heat like that; it's almost like the mug and drink are an extension of my arm, I feel connected to the moment. I even hold a handled mug by its body for the same reason.

I get that when it’s cooled a little but freshly boiled water for tea or even 85-95°C for pour over is a bit too hot for comfort for me personally. It is a good way to tell when it’s cool enough to drink though.

Switch absolutely excels at medium to medium/light roasts!
