Volkswagen Group has introduced HS8, or Hyper Sense 8, through CARIZON, its joint venture between CARIAD and Horizon Robotics, marking the group's first in-house Level 2++ advanced driver assistance system for China. The technology follows Volkswagen Group's “In China, for China” development strategy, with the first vehicles equipped with HS8 scheduled to launch in 2026. The system is designed to deliver more advanced automated driving assistance while retaining the fundamental requirement that the driver remains alert and ready to resume control whenever necessary.

Whatever happened to the $$$$ investment in Rivian? Thought it was so VW would get this sort of tech?

Sounds like the VW China unit is doing their own thing.
