Hours after writing I now realize that scene and this comic are depicting the same joke. I didn't understand it until now because I saw the film at an age before I knew about the mailman/milkman cuck panic of the 50's.
Remembering a cheesy 90s movie with a cheesier 90s actor as the mailman (not sure if dystopia or civil war?) performing an important duty. Wouldn't it be fun if that last letter for which he had to ride 2 days through rain and wind, uphill, was spam.
