The vehicle measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. It features a fastback profile and frameless doors.
The Ioniq V is based on Hyundai's E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) and offers single-motor versions with maximum outputs of 140 kW and 168 kW.
Its batteries are supplied by CATL (HKEX: 3750), using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, with capacities of 53.5 kWh and 66.8 kWh.
That's an odd choice. Is it a revamp of the Ioniq 5 or a different vehicle named Ioniq V? Very confusing because V means 5 but the pricing and look make me think it's not the same vehicle.
Seems like a China-only release. The ioniq 5 never released in China. I assume if they ever bring the model to other markets, they'd do so under a different name.
What's even more annoying about that is that between the two names, Volt is more obviously electric-themed but is the less electric vehicle.
And yes, I know that the Volt came first, as the first mass market plug in hybrid in the US market, but that just made the Bolt's name even more confusing.
