Swiss people, is it true you're not that conscious of who the president is?

because it's a system without a chief, more based on committees than a figurehead

the president is not important.... many Swiss people have trouble remembering who the president happens to be this year.

I can only name 3 of the 7, which is kind of shameful if im honest. Each member of the bundesrat is responsible for certain sectors of the country so if changes were made in the energy sectors, albert rösti is responsible. However, all 7 members of the bundesrat only have one opinion to the public, even if certain members might have different views.

To answer your question, i would say yes.

That's a great name. I bought rösti from Albert once.

The name is funny, but he's a former oil lobbyist heading the department of traffic and the environment. So it's not been so fun the last few years if you cared for the environment.

Yes, nobody cares. You only notice when some foreign president visits or something and there's like the minister of home affairs shaking their hand. She got no business doing that in her role as department head but I guess she's the president for this year so it's one of her duties.
