A federal judge in Texas ruled on Tuesday that the state's new law limiting public drag performances was an unconstitutional restriction on speech and he permanently forbid enforcement of it.
"Not all people will like or condone certain performances," U.S. District Judge David Hittner wrote. "This is no different than a person's opinion on certain comedy or genres of music, but that alone does not strip First Amendment protection."

Fuck yeah.
A Texan drag queen is a top tier choice for someone to have watching our back. Least we can do is watch theirs, in return.
Edit: My long winded way of saying Protect the Dolls.
Edit 2: I guess I probably used "Dolls" overly broadly above. My protective feeling is inclusive of both queens and dolls, and others who might feel the need to lay low in Texas.
I sleep better with what I know of the whole spectrum of Texan men and ladies and others who are out there watching my back.
I hope they'll be able to say I was around when they needed a friendly arm or ear.

I can't imagine the gumption it would take to come out in that environment, so I'm inclined to agree. So glad there's still enough of our justice system left to beat back this bullshit.

You... Uh... Know trans women are not the same thing as drag queens?
There's some overlap sure,.
But drag is a caricature of gender performance. Typically (but not always) involves playing up the stereotypes of the 'opposite' gender. Drag kings and queens.
But those are stage characters.
I'm a trans person. I'm not doing a character, I'm living myself.
Sorry I don't mean to be harsh, just trying to explain the difference for those that don't know.

Fair enough. I'm an older straight cis guy who still has some cobwebs in the brain over these topics. You make a good point, and I'm afraid I'm just not used to thinking about all these possibilities. Doesn't mean I'm any less supportive of people being allowed to be whatever they feel they need or want to be. Nobody has the right to control other people's lives.
EDIT: BTW, I didn't think you were being harsh at all, thanks for being respectful & patiently explaining your point.
