The best thing about open source is that a huge new entrant into the system only adds to the system. China will undoubtedly make changes but others can choose to implement or not. Some may be good for all. Some may suit Chinese users only. Some may suit government only. Some may suit Chinese government only. Whatever, it's options and novel methods.
And the more that do this globally, the more independence and options we all have.

Anything Chinese-centric would undoubtedly improve. But Japanese and Korean may not see much benefit other than better Chinese characters.
(Sorry if I'm wrong on what you meant. I'm assuming on the meaning of CJK.)
