i was thinking they might have some knowledge of even more intense data collection policies than google, but that might be giving them too much the benefit of the doubt

Been a few years since I've been on bilibili but from what I remember, the majority of the videos were reups of trending youtube videos with some captions or commentary in chinese

It's how I reduce my YouTube consumption. It's very welcome. They haven't (yet) blocked alternative frontends.
