Makes a lot more sense as well with Biden's speech saying that you need a republican party still, doesn't matter what descriptors he uses.
Anyone right of the Democrats at this point are going to fall into the reactionary camp.
He was saying we still need them and should entertain their messed up ideology. The best case scenario is that he and the Democrats as a collective are naive.

Leftists would never do this if a fascist were in office btw. They will vote the fascist out! And when the armed goons walk the street imprisoning and killing people, they will continue to keep voting as hard as they can. Voting over and over until the fascists are completely defeated by electoral mechanisms. Democracy is invulnerable to fascism.
Fascism has only been defeated by one strategy in all of history: Democratic Elections and trusting the government to do its job. VOTE! And if the fascist gets elected? DO NOT PROTEST! DO NOT RIOT! DO NOT BE VIOLENT! Wait! until the next election, and VOTE THEM OUT! They won't kill you while you hide and wait in your homes. Don't do anything except VOTE.
When your opponent is willing to lie cheat kill murder rape and steal, you need to be willing to vote. Voting is how you defeat a rapist. Voting is how you defeat a murderer. Voting is how you defeat fascism.
Fascists respect the rule of law. It must be used against them. Vote!
