Circa 2005, white lines left in respect to the original cropper.

There is plenty of iron in the iron we use to iron. That was unironically the most pathetic attempt of irony.

Not of you use a heated tungsten cube for all your ironing

🤓 Actually almost all modern clothes irons are made with an aluminium* soleplate now, to minimize corrosion. The soleplate makes up most of the metal content of the iron, and is then coated with a thin layer of non-stick coating like non-stick paint, plastic/polymer, or stainless steel.

Stainless steel is just fancy iron, but it is still iron.

My computer has some gold in it, but I wouldn't characterize my computer as 'gold'. Same way modern irons have almost no iron in them. 🤷

It's not just to minimize corrosion, it also heats up more quickly and evenly and cools down more quickly. There's a reason most heatsinks are aluminum, it's an excellent conductor of heat.

There is no iron in my iron, because it doesn't exist.

raspberry_confetti@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 1d

Right? My mom's iron has a steel plate as its base, which is almost solid iron.

For our Baltimore readers:

Thur is no urn in the urn you use to urn shirts. This is, urnically, both urnic and un-urnic.

If you want a dash instead of a list bullet, you have to escape it (or use an em dash):

He played Iron Man, FYI.

cosmos8188@leminal.space · 7 pts · 1d (1 reply)

With the iron or without the iron?

Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 1d

Without. He used a gold titanium alloy. No iron in ironman.

The irony.

thenextguy@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1d

I have played Iron Man many times. It's a great song.

This guy irons.

Most people are robust. If a man puts his hand on a woman's bottom, any woman worth her salt can deal with it. It's communication. Can't we be friendly?
