Those aren't the same woman. They have aligned the eye openings (outer canthus) but you can see that the ear holes (tragus) are off by maybe 3.5 cm. And the corner of the mouth (labial commissure) is off by maybe 0.5 cm. So unless they did a skull replacement these are different people.
Tilt the head in the left picture forward a bit? You could probably get alignment on the face holes, maybe?
The ears could be moved and the new holes could be purely cosmetic. That seems more in-line with the form-over-function theme we seem to have going on here.
Seriously, I do think you are correct but it also doesn't take much to throw perspective off with different cameras or lenses.
There are a bunch of things that can't be moved. Eye and ear holes are two of them. If they did what you said then she's probably deaf, and it would be nightmare fuel from a sideview.
