Yep, pretty much. It has some quite visceral moments, and clever parallels and double meanings.
I don't play a lot of games like that, the very few VN I play are usually quite a bit more interactive. This is pretty much all story, but I enjoyed it.

It's very much a one-way trip kind of VN, but I might revisit it one day, so, nice that it gets a small visual boost.
I did it not too long ago and it's still too fresh in my mind for a replay.
