I have felt this way for years now. Thankfully I am not on youtube or other places to see all these crazy stories, but sometimes i catch wind of some or when the game releases I see some of them rear their ugly head. Im over it and miss the good days of video games when people just loved games and everything about them. Even the bad games were fun to talk about.

Eh, that's just nostalgia talking. The internet has always been like this around games. If you opened a forum about games 20 years ago, chances are you'd get called a slur for liking one console over another. I occasionally look at old '90s magazines and you'd be surprised how elitist many of them were back then, too.
Must have missed that to. Back in the day i was even less online than now. The only thing i used for games back then were review articles and gamefaqs for walkthroughs. I guess I never understood the reason for game discussions, the only thing I can see it useful for would be MMOs. I played a few as well but again I only really looked up tips and would find answers through search.
