As soon as i looked at it i could tell it was the first set, but when i zoom in to look at details i can't find a single difference. But my brain still tells me it's the first one.
In the first one, the curve of the "r" is slightly more pronounced than the curve of the "n", especially right next to where they connect, so it creates a subtle separation effect. On the "m", the curves are both identical. It is really hard to see though
Man, that is just diabolical! Imagine typing that password 20 times trying to figure out what went wrong. The person who printed those labels must be a completely sadistic maniac. When even torture, bloodshed and war crimes aren't enough, you start doing something truly next level evil like this.
Why? Because the job would be great if it weren't for the customers. Oh it would also be done largely to fuck with one's own coworkers. Very slim chance of it causing a meaningful amount of extra work for one's own self.

The first set is r-n.
Some designers solve this with monospaced typefaces. Others aren't even aware of the issue.
