Banning people for downvoting seems a bit overkill, no? At least let them out themselves as tankies for everyone's amusement.

Nah. The people in question are the ones that downvote but never comment. Fuck them. If they can't remove tankieslop from their feed and constantly downvote stuff here or deliberately do it, it is their own fault. It is not like I am doing this to occasional downvotes. But I caught one user downvote all posts and many comments and they never wrote a single comment in the comm.

Hexbear in particular is known for brigading via their Slop threads. They can overpower all positive votes even in a trending post by being organized and using multiple accounts per person, unlike the drive-by viewers there. It's vote manipulation.

Considering your usename, let's be a little more specific:
Somebody who believes Russia is and the SU was good and spreads their narratives like they were handed down from the heavens, is a tankie.
And while I guess some of them are not trolls, just stupid and misguided - every single one of them I encountered online was trolling. Meaning, deliberately attracting negative attention, aggressively ridiculing attempts at proper discourse, etc. And that's in addition to their stupid and misguided beliefs.
