Post Deleted for calling out Nazi bullshit.

I have no idea who deleted my post: https://anarchist.nexus/post/880380#comment_5219646
The post broke no rules at all, but apparently enough people got mad that they use software made by Nazis like DHH that it got pulled down.

This is the entire post:

If someone could help me out with the modlogs that I couldn't find, that would be awesome.

In short; it looks like my post was deleted because enough Nazis reported it.

Edit: cleaned things up and included the modlog

PTB. There's nothing political warning people about nazi-tainted projects.

Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 9d (4 replies)

I agree with your intent and your opinion 100%, also PTB, but god I hate what the word "political" means in the context you're using it.

Fascism and Nazi-ism are literally kinds of politics. Warning against fascism, is absolutely political.

A rule about not accepting political posts, is FUCKING POLITICAL. Instead of "no politics", a healthier rule could be "no political party themes".

"Well respected" state politics may be excluded, as there is still the pretense of "opinions of application", with the supposed common goal of "common good". (Mostly just a pretense, but a positive pretense nonetheless).

Forbidding politics to the point of forbidding warnings about fascism, is dangerous and damaging. Like forbidding warnings of danger, "because they don't fit the aesthetics of the space".

At best, stupid. At worst, protecting fascism.

and by "no political , really means a specific type politics not being allowed" for these people claiming it.

jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works · -6 pts · 9d (2 replies)

I fullly support communities that want to ban discussions of naziism based on it being politics because it is an idiotic distinction to make without explicitly stating.

Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 7 pts · 9d

You sound like a Nazi.

Daxter101@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 9d

Why is it idiotic?

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 20 pts · 10d (7 replies)

They added a rule that posts cannot include an indivual - like the known Nazi DHH

BasedMaquisEddington@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 10d (2 replies)

DHH, the Ruby on Rails guy?

quill7513@anarchist.nexus · 12 pts · 10d

known for RoR and hating brown people

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 11 pts · 10d

The one and the same.

PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@anarchist.nexus · 10 pts · 10d (3 replies)

PTB that's wild 😆

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 10 pts · 10d (2 replies)

Actually, here it is. They are avoiding the topic that Linux now has a (more public facing) Nazi problem.

Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 9d (1 reply)

Lemmy.world is as bad as Reddit.

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 5 pts · 9d

And it is on purpose too.

Remember, for your own mental health: sometimes the trash takes itself out.

Bad people use the Fediverse. We are not immune to fascists, paedophiles, bigots, and other problematic types because we lean progressive here. Block the bad ones as they make themselves known, and if they block you, they've done you a favour. Enjoy your nicer feed.

quill7513@anarchist.nexus · 14 pts · 10d (2 replies)

i wondered if you'd come in here.

PTB for sure

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 11 pts · 10d (1 reply)

I would like to point out that I appreciate you and all the admins of the FAF and what you do.

quill7513@anarchist.nexus · 10 pts · 10d

i handle praise poorly so i'm gonna deflect to all the excellent work that came before me

PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@anarchist.nexus · 14 pts · 10d (2 replies)

Did you message the mods? Maybe they're willing to see things differently?

Apparently your post was taken down for "politics", which is covered by that community's Rule 3...which also says that "Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux". So...IMO it's either Linux content and allowed, or linux-related Non-Linux content and allowed. It should be put back up.

Honestly it's a shit rule and I will be leaving that community until it's changed. In any case, add it to the list of liberal horseshit that lemmy.world is designed to impose on the rest of the Fediverse, and to the evidence for why we should join communities on other instances.

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 13 pts · 10d

I did not message the mods. There were enough Nazis that basically self-identified through sealioning. That was enough for me. I baited out 2 Nazis.

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 8 pts · 10d

Also, yeah the "keep politics out" rule was there. I guess nptb here, but fuck. If you are willing to shill Nazi shit, then shut the fuck up (preferably forever)

Edit: words hard on mobile

frongt@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 10d (5 replies)

What community did you post this to?

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 12 pts · 10d (4 replies)
technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 10d

PTB. Lemmy.world is for liberal bullshit like supporting nazis.

frongt@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 10d (2 replies)

Everything is political, but this is explicitly political, and they have a rule against political posts.

And it's not even a meme. Maybe a Linux shitposts community would be a better fit.

lyrial@anarchist.nexus · 8 pts · 10d (1 reply)

I don't see warning people about projects they really should not support because they are run by a Nazi as political, but more of a PSA. And not every meme is funny.

jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 9d

especially in that context nazi is just being used to describe a political viewpoint
