Democratic Socialists have a chance to do the funniest thing in New Hampshire. Karishma Manzur is within striking distance of oligarch errand boy Chris Pappas.

I suggest electing the PhD, instead of the career politician.

Karishma Manzur earned a high school diploma from the Cambridge School of Weston. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester in 1998 and a Ph.D. from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2004.

Karishma Manzur is a medical scientist with a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology. She spent over 20 years working on treatments for illnesses like Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and depression.

Chris Pappas graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1998. He then attended Harvard College, earning his Bachelor of Arts in government in 2002.[6] While at Harvard he wrote for The Harvard Crimson.[7]

Career politicians aren't always bad. And PhDs aren't always good. Bernie Sanders is awesome and Dr Phil sucks.

NH guy here. It's complicated. She hasn't made the splash other emerging progressives have. I like her and what she represents as a candidate. I've shaken hands with her. I will vote for her in the primary.

But it's a bit of a scary move to make. I'm worried that the party won't give her the support she needs if she makes it, or that she won't take the reins very effectively if the party does properly back her.

It's a bit of a leap of faith to try to give her the nomination. Pappas is a decently secure win by the polling I've read about. Manshur is a wild card who could crush it or fizzle out.
