A new wave of Russian mobilization has been predicted for years without ever materializing. This time the indicators are more concrete — and once the Duma elections are over in September, Putin has an obvious window to make the decision.

I still seriously doubt Russia will attack NATO or EU, seems to me it would be suicide for Putin.
Many European countries can easily double their efforts against Russia. And it would be extremely damaging to USA if they continue to not support Europe, even disrespecting article 5 which is the cornerstone of NATO. Meaning Putin could force USA to finally take side against Russia.

Or Putin knows he has a small window before Trump loses power. If he attacks now, Trump will do nothing because Trump works for Putin.

Absolutely a strong possibility too, in which case Europe will realize for sure with finality that we can't trust USA, and USA is no longer an ally. And Europe will double down on becoming independent, meaning Russia will have a way stronger Europe against them. We have already seen how Europe has come together since Trump was elected, and have filled the void after USA stopped all support for Ukraine. This would only strengthen EU and Europe even further.
But I think even if Trump and most of the American administration work for Russia, there is a chance that they simply have to choose side for NATO and their allies, because otherwise the administration will finally be removed for treason.
🤣🤣🤣 Who am I kidding. 😢

I think Anders is usually quite realistic, but haven't seen this vid yet. I wonder if the CIA head visited Putin recently to try and sway him away from mobilising further because of this erstwhile window of opportunity.

The consensus is that it was to warn Putin against attacking a NATO or EU country.
But AFAIK we have nothing concrete, so it might as well have been to act as a courier for new orders to Trump.
Yes he is.

They just stopped paying. Now Europe pays everything and the US delivers, just not so many air defence rockets.

Yes unfortunately the coalition of the willing has to buy from USA, but the rest of NATO is working on getting enough of their own production to not be dependent on USA.
But for now purchases of American equipment is actually up.
