New Belgian Criminal Code finally comes into force

On 1 September, the revamped Criminal Code will finally be enacted. The reform of the Criminal Code received parliamentary approval more than two years ago. Normally, the new regulations were supposed to take effect on 8 April, but because numerous other laws had not yet been amended, their entry into force was delayed until the start of the judicial year. However, now the time has finally arrived.
