Not for me. I don't need a phone sized device to read on. I have a 10" eink now, and that's what I'll be looking for when this one finally gives up. Different strokes. I'm sure this will appeal to some, if not many.
Looks like this size appeals to plenty of people. A lot of people are used to reading on phone-sized devices. The Xteink 4 (which I have) sold quick. I usually like the bigger readers, but I have been reading a lot on this phone sized ereader, and I love it. I understand the market for it now.
Must admit Xteink 4 got me curious, especially with the alternative (i.e. un-enshittifyable) firmware available. Aaand it's gone. Sigh. Still it's just an ESP32, and likely so is the pro, which also has a frontlight, which was a glaring (heh) omission in my mind. Hopefully the code ports easily. Looks like it's underway...

And Boox generally makes solid eReaders.
