36:29 - I don't remember who contributed the dev docker compose, but I use it for local development. The main difference that I use it for is that it maps all the source files from your folder and uses the flask development web server (instead of gunicorn). This means that you can tweak python/css/template files locally and then your flask will reload itself and automatically reflect those changes. It makes iterating things a lot quicker compared to doing something like rebuilding an image each time.

That's awesome! Thanks for contributing to piefed. :) And I'm sure Rimu is open to any docker suggestions as he's fumbling through it like I am. :D

Why not podman with quadlets ? :D
ozoned@piefed.social · 2 pts · 15d
I know of podman, used it, it's not the drop in replacement for Docker that Red Hat says it is. I have no clue about quadlets and at this point, I'm not even interested in learning. :D lol

Whilst docker offer the convenience for quick environnement installation, i think that podman deserve some love as docker does.
But that's also up to the dev team and its capacity to maintain it. One year ago, one dev offered a podman build but it was dismissed. It was ready for production. It is the same dev that offered us the scheduled post. :)
Podman strong point is its integration with Linux. Here is a quick summary from a website :

Fantastic, I used to listen to every episode of Fireside Fedi, and then my podcast app stopped getting new episodes (since December 2025). I wondered what happened to it!
Nice to hear Ozoned's voice again, and interviewing the dev of my favourite Fediverse app! ;)

I think that's when I moved hosts. I did have it hosted on Fireside Fedi on a Peertube, but I started a Public Charity called BT Free and it's hosting tubefree.org and I moved it there. https://tubefree.org/@firesidefedi if you're interested. :) Sorry about that. I really fumbled that move.
Thank you for kind words. :) Appreciate it very much. Helps me get over my imposter syndrome. :D

Thank you! I've really enjoyed the diversity of guests that you've interviewed, and I've discovered a lot of creators and people on the Fediverse by listening to you, as well as learning a lot of lessons from people discussing their experiences with you.
I had assumed that you made a deliberate choice to stop syndicating there, but if it helps fix an issue: the podcast app that I use is just the default Apple Podcasts app on iOS. Fireside Fedi has stopped syndicating there since the BMX Escape episode on 12/12/25. I'm perfectly happy to move over to listening on TubeFree if that's where you're at now though.

Oh! Awesome! You made my day! That's exactly what I was going for! :) That's such a wonderful compliment. I REALLY appreciate it.
The show is on Apple. I had to change it since I changed hosts. I've never used Apple stuff, but it says it's syncing.
Maybe try this one? https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/fireside-fedi/id1848107686
Thank you so much for listening. :) You have a bunch of awesome guests to catch up on now! :D
