My first Pilot Iroshizuku ink. I love it so far.

I bought one of the acclaimed Pilot Iroshizuku inks last week. It's also the first ink I've bought at a store in-person. Here it is on my desk at work. I've been using it in a notebook that doesn't really show off any nice fountain pen qualities, but even so, I've been enjoying this ink. The purple color looks great, and it dries quickly, which is nice for a lefty.

Seems like every other fountain pen user besides me has used these before; do you have any favorite colors?

Keeb is an ergodox ez, I think! I'm a little out of the loop these days.

Came here to suggest the same thing. Looks like the corner of it, probably with the tent tilt kit, and on the side it looks like the wrist rests that are built for it.

Trackball seems to be an L-Trac.

All I can see is how clean the desk and equipment are and how stained it would be if I was allowed to have that ink nearby 😅

I was definitely paranoid when I was filling my pen, lol. I did it on an empty desk next to me.

I don’t know, a well placed splatter of that ink could look really cool across an all white desk…

I like the name. Cool call-out to the classic author.

I hadn't thought to search for the name; I hadn't realized that was a real person. Cool.

I have the Yama-Budo, which is red with a gold sheen. It’s so pretty. I used it for my D&D journals which were my weekly chance to hand-write a bunch.

Red?? It looks purple to me, and as far as I know, I don't have any color deficiencies. :-P

EDIT: From the website:

The color: Yama-budo is a bright, fuchsia purple.

OP, you may have something to talk to your optometrist about. ;-)

I have a bottle of this I bought back in 2017 or so, I still have 1/3 of it left. One of my favorite inks.

I have a few, but I think that the only one that I've inked a pen up with thus far is the shading yellow-orange-red Iroshizuku Yu-Yake.

I like it---it's on a stub nib pen---but I haven't used similar yellow-orange-red inks from other ink manufacturers, like Noodler's Southwest Sunset, and I imagine that in practice, they're probably pretty similar to Pilot's ink.

As a lefty you say? I have just been rocking the G6 8 pack because I thought the only way I could get into fountain pens is to use a crazy apparatus that makes me drag it like a righty...

tal@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 4d

My understanding is that left-handers using fountain pens often write with their hand positioned unusually so that it doesn't drag through the ink. There are also some inks, papers, and pens that bring dry time down to avoid smearing.

Beautiful ink!

I have the black and blue ones, and they are probably my favorite writers. Smooth and bold. Beautiful

The color looks so rich! What is the finish like?

tuckerm@feddit.online · 2 pts · 4d

I has a decent amount of shading. I only have it in a pen with a fine nib right now, so it doesn't show up very much, but it's noticeable.

Here it is on an Apica notebook. I think the real color is a little darker than this; I got a little water in the feed when I was cleaning it, so this is a slightly watered-down version of the ink.
