Funny, that's what I think of billionaires!

Depends on how you value human life.

Their organs can be harvested to save countless.

Yuck! Probably full of adrenochrome 🫪

Well, not "countless." Sociopathic Oligarchs are a finite resource, but we should exploit that finite resource as ruthlessly as they would.

Not nearly as many lives saved from one set of organs as lives destroyed to become a billionaire.

Like not even close.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 2d

This is still one way they can give back. Don't worry, though, if they're donating their organs to help a few people, it means they're dead, and we can use their estate to help a whole lot more!

I hear billionaires are quite the delicacy.

Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf · 4 pts · 2d

But also extremely toxic!

Lodespawn@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2d (2 replies)

There's only so many billionaires, with so many organs, a lot of those organs will be trash, so you could definitely count how many lives could be saved.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Those organs have had the best treatment, good food, expert medical care, some have even been infused with the blood of healthy young athletes. Sure, a few have stressed their organs with cocaine, cigars, and expensive scotch, but most will be well-preserved.

I say go for it.

Lodespawn@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2d

Oh I'm not saying it's not a worthy plan, it's just a lot of them are ancient, there's only so much you can do with an 80 year old liver, regardless of how many total blood replacements the corpse has had..

He's kind of right. Taxes are better than charity.

gusgalarnyk@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2d

I wish people would think about the comments they're posting online as independent thoughts.

"Taxes do better good than charties can with money" is a reasonable opinion and one I could agree with.

"The billionaire is right about charities hurting people more than they help" is a stance that sounds crazy on it's own given what good charities do in the world.

Tying them together doesn't make the second one better just because the first one might be true. Imagine saying "charities that spend 90% of the money they make trying to cure cancer or provide food and shelter to kids or provide vaccines to poor locations are bad organizations for society." You'd get boo'ed by your good friends.

Billionaires are abominations.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 4 pts · 2d

You think they're bad now? Wait until they start evolving into TRILLIONAIRES. Then they'll really get squirrelly.

There are many charities that provide life-saving medical care to children. Imagine telling a child that them being alive is a net negative on the world. This comment isn't "contrarian," it's a glimpse of how utterly evil this person truly is.

village604@adultswim.fan · 7 pts · 2d

I do believe that charities needing to exist in the first place is a negative thing.

BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 12 pts · 2d

Completely missing the best excuse that Sociopathic Oligarchs have: the government shouldn't be funding social safety nets, that's the jobs of charity.

Do away with government safety nets AND charity, then the only path left for The Desperate is to remove the obstacle between themselves, and all the money in the world - The Sociopathic Oligarchs themselves.

Add this loser to The List.

fucking leech is a fucking leech

And not-for-profit organizations are a commie scourge!

He's got a weird looking head

kat_angstrom@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d

"Net negative" in the sense that the money used for charity is not going to him personally, so for him it's not the least bit positive, because he needs more money. He doesn't have enough yet. He'll never have enough. He needs more. Anything that doesn't serve him personally is a net negative. You are a net negative unless you donate your income to him. Do it. He needs more.

This guy's head is a message to balding men everywhere there is no hope.

Widdershins@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2d

Ship him to the part of Africa where they think bald guys have gold inside their heads. You can call it charity until they don't find any gold.

Tikiporch@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2d

I wouldn't either, I'd just pay my bloody taxes.
