are you a supermarket op?

pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 1d (1 reply)

aren't supermarkets wrapping up with back to school

Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 1d

My local already has advent calendars and Christmas stuff out (only in one isle, not full- blown chraids yet)

Wake me up... on second thought, don't. Not ever.

Me dripping in sweat repairing my deck in 90°F heat at 10am this morning: "ooh it's almost time to watch Over the Garden Wall again!"

Here I am in Germany where Halloween isn't that popular so I bought the first Christmas cookies from the store last week.

Sabata11792@ani.social · 3 pts · 1d (1 reply)

Damn, that's a lot of time for anxiety before the holiday.

Did they start playing the Christmas music in stores yet?

Asetru@feddit.org · 4 pts · 1d

No need to be anxious if there's Lebkuchen.

Haven't heard "all I want for Christmas is you" yet... but then I usually shop with headphones on, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org · 2 pts · 1d

Can confirm. End of August is when they start putting it in stores. I'm not even mad, but it's basically tradition to complain about it and it's fun to do too.

Hear me out.

In the US, Labor Day is culturally considered the last day of summer. Thus the day after Labor Day is the first day of autumn. Like early winter is Christmas season, early autumn is Halloween season.

That is my excuse to start celebrating spooky season next Tuesday.

WanderWisley@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 15h

I like it!

aeronmelon@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1d

Looks like ExO meets Over the Garden Wall

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1d (4 replies)

Or fuck off and wait for October instead of expanding holiday seasons until they mean nothing. Go do autumn stuff and leave Halloween alone.

SippyCup@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1d (3 replies)

If Christmas gets everything after the 31st, then spooky season starts July 5.

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1d (2 replies)

Christmas doesn't get everything after Oct 31. That's the same nonsense.

SippyCup@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d (1 reply)

Tell that to the retailers.

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1d

I do, by not buying anything and stink eyeing ppl that do.

Mulligrubs@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1d (1 reply)

How many years have I despised this song? Thirty? Has it been thirty years?

pipe@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1d

It's peak "I'm seriousss now guys" Billie Joe 😆

Stolas@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 1d

It's the best holiday.

lowleveldata@programming.dev · 3 pts · 1d

I can't wait to see all the hotspooky cosplays

darthsundhaft@piefed.social · 3 pts · 1d

No no no no wait wait wait wait

Do You Remember

SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org · 3 pts · 1d

I approve. We don't even really have Halloween in my country, but I love absolutely everything about Autumn.

dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 1d

Yes, please!

I need to start decorating soon since October will busy with a variety of unrelated nonsense. That graveyard won't populate itself!

Raccoon_Rick@altgag.net · 2 pts · 1d

Wake me up when September ends, unless Valve releases the Steam Frame. But otherwise, don’t

bitjunkie@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d

It's usually about the second or third week of September when my wife and I start watching absolutely nothing but our massive backlog of horror movies.

Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 1d

Are you Walmart, because that's exactly what Walmart did this past weekend.
