When I was much younger my mother and sister were baking cookies. My mother removed some finished cookies from the oven and clearly instructed my sister "Do not touch, it's very hot' and my sister verbally acknowledged my mother's warning.
My mother turned her back for a moment to clean some dishes or something only to immediately hear my sister screaming. She had put her tounge on the hot pan trying to lick a cookie. Logically your tongue isn't "touching ".
This fool waited until they were an adult. My sister was way ahead.

The trick is learning to not touch the hot stove. Here's a link to the top 10 reasons not to touch a hot stove.
