I would be less annoyed at daylight savings time if daylight didn't get re-kidnapped or w/e every damn year. Does the daylight even want to be saved? Are we in a Mario/Peach situation where the daylight would rather be with Bowser but can't bring itself to break up with us?
Given that it’s apparently impossible to convince people to just start things later in the winter it seems like changing the time is just about the best compromise we’re gonna get.
In winter people should start things later and stop them earlier. Sunrise to sunset is QUITE enough time for all productive human behavior. Night hours, activity is optional.
In summer of course the workday would be longer, so we might need to break it up with a siesta, or at least a long lunch.
Last time I proposed something like that I was told “but the workday starts at eight”. So like I said I’m pretty sure at this point that the changing the clock is the only compromise.

It'd be nice tbh to have people be able to choose between working earlier and leaving early, vs working later and leaving late
