That may be accurate, but it won't do him any good if he dies of neglect or suffers irreversible damage to his health before he even gets a chance to show up in court.
I think I get why you typed this - to perhaps shine some hope on a hopeless situation. The truth, however, is that this guy might never get to his lawyer, and is lucky we even know he exists to maybe keep a light on the cockroaches so they can't just carry him away.
