I remember copying shortcuts to all my games to a floppy disk and bringing it to my friend's house. This was windows 95 era. I thought i was going to hook my boy up with a bunch of free shit. One of my first computer lessons. And possibly my first attempt at piracy.
edit: forgot to mention all the games were certainly shareware.
(as far as games) Gaben had it right. I'd rather pay and just have something work than sail and have to deal with all the scurvy. All other media, however... yo ho ho.

I remember making a website as a kid, then going to school and typing

AI tech bros still make that mistake as adults, so you're good!
