Yeah, it's a joke with a "schizophrenia" punchline, as you put it, but I feel like it speaks to a yearning for connection and empathy and for love in a patriarchal system that demands the domination of man over woman, and therefore excludes the very possibility of love between a man and a woman, for true love can never exist in a dominator-dominated dynamic.
In a way, it's the mirror image of a "wife bad" joke, where the loveless nature of patriarchal heterosexual unions is framed as the failure of the woman, where the "schizophrenia" joke frames it as a mere unattainable dream of the man.
"is always happy and kind" is setting up an expectation impossible for her and for you. This just extends the whole manosphere bs. People are such whiners.
