It IS a scare tactic. Anyone with any knowledge of polygraphs knows they don't actually say squat. Its an interrogation method meant to make you THINK that they do.
A polygraph is just a way to get you to say shit that might incriminate you.
The main way polygraphs work is called the "bogus pipeline." It means that people are afraid of being caught lying so they tell the truth when hooked up to the machine.
Fuck polygraphs. I wanna see Hegseth do a proper set of pullups without all the cheating by swinging himself and his legs back and forth to give himself momentum, oh, and at least one set of ten proper straight pushups, before he's allowed to implement any sort of PT guidelines for the actual rank and file.
I love that these clowns think a polygraph and a some mean words from kegsbreath will somehow be able to extract hidden information from people who have been through sere training
