As someone who was born into life in the sticks, there is nothing that can separate a farmer from his oppressors. May as well let them rage out there. No one is saying to hurt the farmers, only to let them be backwards.

Which is unfortunate because ofc I know without a doubt that I'd rather have a neighbor I know, who I share fence with, who can birth a horse or punch a bull in the face, on my side, than the entire floor of an apartment building in the city.

Sadly that same neighbor, who will except me and any other "weirdo" or non white that he knows, all day and with his whole heart, will also vote to kill us all and push an economic policy that keeps him under the boot of a bank, all day too.

No amount of closeness to him or logic will fix this. He follows overt displays of power, herd thinking, and whatever mindset calcified in him before the age of 16. That's just the truth.

Graphene OS is great. I'm glad to hear that you have it. However, that is not a hardware cutoff, and graphene OS does not rewrite the firmware on chips that are deeply embedded into the physical hardware networks of the mic and GPS. Only a physical cutoff to these two systems can hope to stop illicit telemetry and recording.

I'm not trying to poopoo everyone robbing Google and MS and Apple and LG and Roku and every corp of their revenue streams. Fuck the corps!

The vibe of posts like these though is usually one of removing tracking and spying, not revenue streams. So I think it's important to remind everyone how deep they will have to go to genuinely limit their attack surface.

And that apathy and exhaustion would be the problem, if they existed in a vacuum. Like if people believed these agencies were inept or actually out to harm us, but they were not.

However, it's true. The government, as it stands now, is actively out to harm its citizens, and is completely incapable of standing up to and defeating the rot as it consumes us all. This is no surprise as it's exactly what the government was set up to do originally, all that has changed is that now the in-group is smaller than the majority of the voting populace.

Looking at your necrotic right arm, and deciding the feather someone gave you is an insufficient tool to save you, is not apathy. My faith in public institutions is not what destroyed them. A successful attack by the wealthiest was.

The [deleted by yurbuns] is still a post that can be rated. And, when you delete a post a request goes out to delete it, but it is up to each community to respect that request or not. Unfortunately, your photo is now out there somewhere. Such is the Internet.

I agree. Maybe less haha and more boohoo? A cosmic joke where the first sign of the destroyer is a grinning poop emoji?

The shoehorning of a grey, sensibly passionless murdercar, into a colorful, silly, joyous game-product, is a beautiful analogy for how fascism has unwrapped its fully formed chode inside the opium blisses of colonized minds who thought they were ecstatically dancing, while actually slumped in a corner wireheading as the world dies.

Sorry if anyone has to see this twice, it's very important.

The original journalists who spent years putting this together, an Israeli Jewish publication. This is real investigative journalism.

From the article:

(Israel) insisted on not escalating and diligently preserving the 'asset' named Hamas

It is a long read but very worth it. If I had to summarize:

Israel wanted to keep Hamas as a bogeyman to justify their fascist government. They needed an enemy strong enough to scare people, but not strong enough to defeat them.

Hamas begged Israel to negotiate peace. Israel strung them along for years and years and years. Hamas warned Israel the attack was coming if they didn't sign agreements they had already promised to sign.

Hamas warned Israeli allies, to try and talk sense into Israel. Hamas warned more allies. Many countries tried to talk sense into Israel, but Israel only wanted to preserve the 'asset' named Hamas, and peace wouldn't do that.

Faced with the truth, an enemy next door with far more power, who had trapped them in a ghetto and planned to keep it active permanently for generations, Hamas did something terrible to break the unwinnable situation Israel and its well funded allies had created.

During the October 7th attack Israel ordered their soldiers to shoot all captured IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens. Israel wanted an excuse for genocide, more than they wanted their people alive.

The day after Hamas attacked they reached out and offered to release all hostages, and all they wanted in return was for Israel to come back to the negotiation table they had refused to honor before, and to allow a mediator to attend. Israel refused.

Hamas was going to release all hostages immediately, for just the public promise that Israel would attend peace negotiations, and Israel refused. Israel wanted the excuse for genocide, more than they wanted their citizens.

Israel wanted only destruction. They cultivated only destruction for decades. We see them now, as they have always been.
