One more reason why being exploited is bad for the victims.
I hope they will be able to come up a plan and implement it successfully. But this is usually when nationalistic parties get to power and take out their anger on the weakest part of the society. Knowing all the blood that was spilled for the diamonds historically - human life doesn't carry enough value.
Still I wish the best for them - and I will do my best to not buy/get any mined stones.
The headline takes the angle that this is bad for South African jobs and the way you placed the emoji makes it look like you're celebrating that fact. Didn't read the article since it's paywalled.

well it's WSJ, so them bemoaning the loss diamond trade isn't a surprise. And seems like this one is a hard paywall so even archive doesn't work.
