I just happened to open the repo and saw this. By now I have my own instance running too at https://stopusingx.com/, forked in https://git.prisma.moe/aichan/nitter. I will have to either sync my repo to the original or switch back to it entirely ;)

I set up an instance too, but with an authwall because I don't want to get spammed by bots and hit the rate limit.

Is your instance a publicly usable instance or are you just showing the domain? I don't have any interest in running my own but wouldn't mind having access to one

It is publicly usable, so feel free ;) There are also many others available in https://codeberg.org/mv12star/shitter/wiki/Instances

If you just want a public viewer and don’t need to host Nitter yourself, I built Twitter viewer for that. No account required, although cached posts may not always be fully up to date.

It's great they are keeping it going, for those people who need access to Twitter.

I haven't so much as looked at that steaming puddle of Xcrement in the last decade+, but I might just give Nitter a whirl, just because. 😋
