Their 25 year history of resistance included multiple instances of server seizures, among other things. A little knowledge of their history would tell you this was hardly the "first sign of any authoritarian action".
The pressure they've stood up to in the past suggests they may have been facing threats this time that go beyond what has been widely publicised.

That's easily said as someone not sanctioned by the US, but consider that they're still humans with lives. You can't expect people to suddenly give up their and their families' abilities to live a normal life to fight a foreign fascist regime. Huge respect if they do. But I haven't done it and presumably neither have you, so we really shouldn't judge.
