Marriage takes patience. It takes love, that is true.
But I've picked up a couple husbanding shortcuts too.
I know when she's hungry before she's aware.
I know where we're going from one little stare.
I know when “That's fine” isn't fine in the least.
I know when she wants me to order the feast.
I know when she's cold. I know when she's hot.
I know when she wants something she says she does not.
I know when to follow. I know when to lead.
I know what she's thinking before there's a need.
Twenty years teaches you plenty, you see.
Although lately...
She's been staring suspiciously at me.
So there you all have it—our secret divine:
I have a happy wife (because I learned to read her mind.) 🤫
