I opened the link and immediately suspected it must be the son of Rupert Sheldrake, brother to Merlin Sheldrake, the mycologist. It was.

Yes their father is a strange fellow. I actually bought Entangled Life mainly because Cosmo made a short theme song using mushroom generated sounds for the book.

I don't get it. How does that attribute to strength? The whole Ratatouille thing was just about control. The rat didn't make the person stronger or anything by pulling their hair.
