Currently they’re most popular, as per the Steam Hardware Survey.
Historically, their best selling GPU was likely the ATI Radeon 9600 in the very early 2000s.

That is because you got Half Life 2 with that card. Or at least a coupon/key because the game wasn't even out back then. And before VALVe got hacked, leaked parts of the source code and postponed the releasereleased even further
