I was wondering why this was so far away from may first, which is dat of the workers or labor day in most of the world, only to find out that America does it differently.
Grover Cleveland made it an official national holiday in 1894 after the Pullman strikes. He selected the September date to put distance between the socialist May Day protests and the concessions he was making to the Labor movement.
obviously, trump is deranged and far worse. But biden is an idiot who has no idea what hes talking about, too. Hes not describing middle class, at all, nor did they build america. It was built off slaves and abusing immigrants.
Of course the middle class is a thing, its the petite bourgeoisie and the professional managerial classes. Its not what Biden was using it as, workers who aren't in poverty, but it absolutely is a thing.
You should probably look into some Marxist class analysis if you want to contribute seriously to a discussion like this in left wing circles.
the Petite bourgeoisie are not workers as they own their own means of production (shopkeepers, sole tradesmen) and combine it with their labour to produce value. This is in direct contrast to workers who don't and only make a living by selling their labour to capitalists who do own the means of production.
The PMC is more contentious, but the managerial aspect puts them in a position of discipling labour which puts their class interests in opposition to workers, at least to some extent.

Yes, that's the point. They share some aspects of their class position with labour, and some with capital. They are in between the two: a middle class.
A manager shares the interest of getting the most out of the people reporting to her and wants to press them to work as hard as possible, because that's how she gets her promotion, so she shares that interest with capital. But also she is working for a wage not making profits on ownership so she shares that with labour.
A sole tradesman doesn't have a boss telling him what to do, he only has to care about making a profit and so worries about costs of inputs etc. just like a capitalist. But he has to do his own work he doesn't command others to do the work for him and just collect the excess value from their work, so in that he is like a worker.
