Both sides are fascist. Biden and Kamala enabled isreal's genocide. If ending a genocide isn't a priority for you then I don't care what is.

This slow and steady strategy you're describing got us here. The only thing it helps is fascists. Deluding yourself into thinking otherwise is quite frankly, childish.

Honestly could this just be explained by how people over 50 tend to suck with phones and computers and how vital that is to most jobs now? Cause like all I can think is I wouldn't want to hire people 50+ either.

Not saying all 50+ people but there are more people like this over 50 then under. Alot more entitlement too and less educated.

I drive, my parents and peers pressured me a lot and I got my license as soon as I could at 16. Now I'm 30. In the past couple of years I've started living on my own and work remote. I hate driving and have started to realize I am really bad at it. Each drive feels like I'm rolling the dice.

I think if I had been less insecure when I was younger I would have never gotten my license. It's a real shame to me that driving is necessary for so many. We need better public transport🫩

Best of luck stranger. Not driving is a shitty thing for your parents be disappointed over. Stay safe

So I work for a state government and I can code a wee little bit. I found some ways to automate a good chunk of my work with app scripts. Full disclosure, I review them but I couldn't do it without Gemini. 😅 (That being said I would never trust an agent as an automation for anything)

I made the mistake of telling a coworker or two about the first automation I did. One of them told the boss thinking I'd get kudos.😔 I did and more work.

Haven't shared any of the automations since. I also built all the ones since to slowly work over the work day so it looks like I'm doing them manually in real time. I also automated all of the data imports using my work email so if I get fired. My account is terminated too and they will all stop functioning.

I gotta say it's actually made my work day much lighter. Hopefully it won't catch up with me negatively

If I misunderstood how you think about socialism please correct me. Just sounded like what I've heard before.

When I said nothing is bloodless I mean politically. If you let the last status quo be and just gaze at clouds there will still be blood and suffering.

Does everyone say the world should be better for workers? Doesn't seem that way to me but I grew up around rich Republicans so maybe that's just weird.

I trust when any source tells me something that goes against the narratives that would benefit them. That includes the CIA saying nice things about enemy countries. I figured you would trust western sources more, would you prefer other sources?

I'm bad at spelling and grammar lol, I'm not capitalizing to manipulate you. I'm just shooting the shit with you although you came off so hostile this time I should probably call it quits but here I am typing away like I'm still emailing for work😵‍💫

Actually intent is a part of the definition of genocide so you are incorrect

https://www.un.org/en/genocide-prevention/definition

"Committed with intent to destroy" ....

I'm not doing whataboutism... I was drawing parrells to other real world events to compare the holodomor and what is happening to the UYGHURS in china as I don't think those events where genocide but I do think they were horrible.

Hell let me put it this way chattel slavery in the USA was horrible but it wasn't genocide either. Do you get what I'm saying?

I get why you think of it as a direction and not a concrete definition. Seems like most people think of it that way, like when the government does stuff it's socialism and when it does alot of stuff it's communism.

Kills me that that's the way people think of it because of how unproductive it is but I get it...

I don't think anything is bloodless. Staying status quo and voting is super bloody with all the conflict and genocide going on too. I would like an end state that creates a better world for workers.

I'd argue the USSR was socialist and that they improved the lives of workers dramatically. That can be compared to the previous feudalist monarchy they had their bloody revolution against or the clown show capitalist country that took their place after.

I'm not saying the USSR was perfect and didn't commit any atrocities but I'd say they were one of the better countries for their time. I think there's a lot of propaganda, especially on the English internet about them. This is something I found a couple years ago that the CIA declassified mentioned Stalin not being a dictator and explained a bit of how the actual politics work.

I don't think me and you were going to get to the bottom of it, but if you weren't aware historians really contest whether or not the holodomor was intentional. What's funny to me is almost nobody knows about the Bengal famine which was done by Britain. Around the same time. It was racially targeted at Indian people and it killed nearly as many people but no one ever talks about it. Only bring it up to say the holodomor wasn't good. It was an atrocity regardless of if it was planned or incompetence but it's weird to me. How much we let it influence the legacy of the USSR as opposed to other countries with other atrocities.

In case you don't believe me, it's very contested:

I'm curious what you have against Xi?

As far as the uighur genocide, have you considered how weird it is that the same countries that are supporting Israel's genocide in Palestine are the ones calling out China for this?

At the same time there is shit like the link below that makes me wonder if genocide is apt or if the treatment of uyghurs is more similar to how black Americans are treated in America. It seems like there is extra prison time and use of Labor in prison, but it doesn't seem like a wholesale slaughter or cultural erasure.

Geling with sane socialists is enough for me to have a decent opinion of you off the bat. Lol I'll be long winded but I won't lose my mind at you🙂

I'd draw the line for socialist at with anyone that's for abolishing private property. (Not personal property like your tooth brush or house). Any property that generates money like factories, work equipment, stocks, apartment buildings.

I don't care if you think the government should own these things or if you think co-ops that give all their workers a seat on the board should. As long as you think the workers should own and control it collectively you're cool in my book.

Curious if you agree with that or if you think the Nordic capitalist states are socialist.(They're just capitalist states with nice welfare programs built on top, still better than other forms of capitalism) But they are called social democracies and that gets confusing for a lot of people.

We might disagree on China and Russia but I we both probably have the complaints with them you do. Real difference would probably be how we order which countries are worse and how. I'd order these three this way

Worst USA, Russia, China Best

USA is worse then Russia in my mind solely by its capacity for doing evil. I think the will to do it is about on par for the two.
