"Tiger warns against law banning eating people".

Whenever people like that give warnings it means it's the right thing to do.

Currently instagram users are overwhelmed with ads and posts from accounts they donāt even follow.
hushable@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 4d
I swear Instagram started adding random accounts to my following list, from time to time I see posts from random meme accounts and I'm somehow following them, Even tho I only follow people I know IRL.

I've never seen that I'm following accounts I don't know, but there's a ton of the "Suggested for you" stuff.

Of course he would
He's a cunt who profits from doing harm
I live in Australia, and the banning social media for kids thing was idiotic, but it was set in motion by the previous conservative government and was unfortunately popular with the voting public
This is the current, vastly better, government trying to make lemonade out of lemons by turning that shitty legislation into something actually helpful
They know kids are getting around the ban, so they're working with it rather than trying to waste time and resources repealing shit legislation

Like with cookies, they will undoubtedly find the most unusable and malicious form of "no algorithm" allowed under the law.
It's not a warning, it's a threat that they plan to follow through on.

Do you want the algorithm:
š³enabled
š³enable only necessary
āļøenable custom
-insert checklist so long you have to scroll to see all the options, and you have to untick them one by one to actually turn the algorithm off. And it pops up every time you go back to the website if you didn't tick "enabled"

OP, you've got a misspelling in your title. It's "whines," not "warns."

So we can turn on the only really actually useful sorting (chronologically by date) in the future?

No one should listen to anyone who has a job which can legitimately be performed by a 5 year old LLM.

The text of the draft legislation, last I read, says that:
Side note: I really hate how Lemmy only lets me create new paragraphs and not new lines.

?
it works fine
to do this

? When I do that it ends up like this:

Put more spaces at the end of your line

Ah, I see, it works as long as you have at least two spaces at the end of the line.
