Its good that they put that online and he is a good candidate to beat the GOP. But its pretty bad they need to speak about the Bible most of the interview to get the biggest voter base in Texas to switch sides. the church has way too much influence over those people.
Ikr, as an exchristian, listening to people quote scripture makes me feel some kinda way. But it's an effective way to reach certain folks who may not listen otherwise.
Yeah, there's no way Talarico would have any chance if he wasn't as devout as he is. If he can show them that you don't need to be a christofascist to fulfill your faith, I'll take it. Baby steps, I suppose.
I haven't watched this interview yet, but in all the rest of Talarico's speeches I've seen, while he does talk about the bible a lot, it's typically the "love thy neighbor" and "take care of immigrants" parts, the sort of things that no one should really need religion as the reason to do, but also aren't objectionable to be spouting as a keystone to your religion

Yeah it's like using law books to talk to lawyers. Technically they are expected to at least somewhat adhere to that.
