Do you folks think this Leprechaun-inspired Durge build works?

I'm thinking Halfling is a given, 1 level of Nature Cleric to get all armor proficiencies, guidance, and most importantly Shillelagh for the vibe of whacking things with a magic stick.

Then 6 Swords Bard for Extra Attack and several on-theme spells. If I make sure Bard is always my most recent new class, Shillelagh should run off Charisma.

Round it out with 5 levels of some sort of Rogue for 3d6 sneak attack that should play nicely with Durge's invisibility cloak. Swashbuckler plays off Charisma further, but Arcane Trickster gives more spell slots? Thief would give two bonus actions so I still have one after I Shillelagh up.

Thoughts?

Update: Hell yeah, FearTaylor's camp clothes mod absolutely has the drip to support this, and it feels decent to play as soon as you hit level 2 and get Shillelagh rolling off Charisma. Salami shillelagh is funny, but torch shillelagh is a beast. I think Mystic Carrion's torch in Act 3 might ultimately be my BIS weapon.

Interesting idea! Are you planning to play solo or with a party? If you're playing with a party basically any build can work. I don't know if this would work solo/HM or not, but the best way to find out is to try it!

I'm playing by myself, gonna try it in honor mode with a party. DJ Shart as a war cleric and/or gloomstalker ranger, Necro Gale because I've heard it's interesting to talk him into going along with evil, and eventually Minty as idk, maybe an Eldritch Knight thrower. Something that doesn't use its bonus action much so she can toss around soul branding.

It'll probably be fine in a party, even though I know fuck all about building NecroGale. Whether I'll survive honor mode this time is another question. Mostly I wanted to see if anyone spotted a bullshit little gotcha that was going to completely break the build concept.

Looks good to me. I don't see any reason you couldn't beat HM with that build/party. Take it slow, full rest often (On my first HM I long-rested after every single fight. There is more than enough food to be picked up.). Have fun!
